Five-star wing Keion Brooks was recently interviewed about his recruitment and he revealed he would love to play with Armando Bacot

One of the top targets left on the University of North Carolina Tar Heels’ recruiting board is five-star wing Keion Brooks. The Indiana native has yet to announce where he will be attending college next year and hasn’t delivered many clues as to who is the favorite.

His recruitment has centered around in-state Indiana, Michigan State, North Carolina and Kentucky, although he listed a top 5 including UCLA. The general thought surrounding his recruitment is that he wants to stay close to home in the Midwest which would be bad news for the Tar Heels.

But as it has dragged on, many believe UNC could pull him out of the Midwest and sign him to their 2019 class.

Brooks hasn’t set an official date to announce as of yet but it really feels like it’s going to happen soon and possibly by the start of March.

He recently caught up with Corey Evans of Rivals to give an update on his recruitment and dish on the schools remaining on his list. Brooks was asked about how UNC has pitched their program to him:

"Yeah, their sell is that next year they have a need for someone like me, especially with everyone leaving, so they need a guy to come in and score the ball and attack in transition and make plays. Also, just the tradition of North Carolina and Michael Jordan went there, obviously, and other great people and they have a rich tradition so they feel like I can come in and be really good early."

Evans went on to ask Brooks about UNC signee and five-star center Armando Bacot who signed with the Tar Heels a few months back.

Brooks revealed that Bacot has been trying to recruit him and has been in his ear. But the big takeaway from the answer was that he told Evans “. . . and I would love to play with Armando.”

With Bacot, UNC got off to a good start after his verbal back in August of 2018 but since then they haven’t been able to land a recruit to add to the class. Along with Brooks, UNC is also targeting Cole Anthony on the perimeter.

Next. Oregon is gaining momentum in the race for Cole Anthony. dark
