UNC Football: 2019 National Signing Day Live Tracker

The day is finally here. National Signing Day 2019 has begun as football recruits across the country make their decisions on where they will play college football beginning next season.

For the North Carolina Tar Heels, this is the first National Signing Day under Mack Brown in his second stint with the program. Brown took over a 2019 class that was started by Larry Fedora and despite losing some commitments, he has turned it into a Top 40 class going into Wednesday.

Brown has been able to nab some of the top talent in the state of North Carolina during the early signing period and even leading up to today.

That was something Fedora really struggled with in his time as head coach of the Tar Heels.

The Tar Heels had 19 players sign their letter of intent during the early signing period back in December and 3 more expected to sign on Wednesday.

There are three big announcements for the Tar Heels on Wednesday as they hope to land Wisdom Asaboro, Eugene Asante and Octavius Brothers. UNC appears to be in the running for Collin Duncan and Michael Lockhart but it’s unlikely either picks the Tar Heels.

Wednesday, Feb. 6

4:13 — OLB target O.C. Brothers has picked Auburn.

3:41 — Brown on UNC’s attendance for Football games. We have a feeling it will be going up next season….

3:08 —Mack Brown comments on UNC’s class that has 10 players from the state of North Carolina.

2:45 — Mack Brown talks about UNC’s QB competition, talking Nathan Elliott and Sam Howell.

10:50 — UNC appears to be picking up momentum for 4-star OLB Eugene Asante. The 247 Sports Crystal Ball is now leaning in the Tar Heels’ favor. Asante will announce later tonight.

10:24 — Don Chapman sends in his LOI, becoming the fourth Tar Heel to do so this AM.

8:28 — OL Ty Murray is officially a Tar Heel.

8:03 — JUCO transfer Ray Vohasek has turned in his LOI. 

7:47 a.m. — Wisdom Asaboro makes it official as the UNC Football Twitter account announces he’s joined the class.

Tuesday, Feb. 5

6:30 p.m. — Wisdom Asaboro announces that he will sign his LOI with the Tar Heels on Wednesday, doing so through his HS coaches’ Twitter account.
