4) Kenny Williams

2018-19 stats:

27.5 MPG, 9.0 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 3.9 APG, 0.9 SPG, 0.3 BPG, 1.7 TPG
41.5 FG%, 29.5 3P%, 78.9 FT%

Best game:

1/8 at NC State: 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5-of-12 shooting, 2-of-5 from three-point range, and 3-of-4 from the free throw line.

Advanced data:

54.9 percent of Williams’ shots this season have come from three-point range, though he’s hit just 23 of his 78 attempts, good for 29.5 percent.

38: The number of free throws that Williams knocked down as a junior. He’s already hit 30 this season, and at a conversion rate of nearly nine percent better.

Synopsis:

Williams has struggled mightily this season. The shots that we all got used to seeing him drain last season simply aren’t falling. The reason he’s ranked fourth on this list is the same that keeps him in the Tar Heels’ starting lineup each game; his leadership and defense. Whether he’s hitting shots or not, Williams plays smart basketball, gets teammates involved and locks down on opposing scorers. If Nassir Little continues his recent surge, though, nothing with keep the phenomenal freshman from overtaking Williams’ spot on this list.
