The UNC Basketball program has a 2021 four-star in-state guard in the building vs. Virginia Tech for an unofficial visit

It’s a quick turnaround for the North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team as they are hosting No. 10 Virginia just over 48 hours since they beat Miami on the road Saturday.

Monday’s game is a showdown between two teams that are 4-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play and separated by just one spot in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll. So far in the first half, it’s been a good one in Chapel Hill as both teams are playing at a high-level right now.

As UNC takes on Virginia Tech, they are doing so in front of a four-star in-state point guard from the 2021 class.

According to his Instagram story, Greensboro Day High School’s Cam Hayes is currently at the Dean Dome for an unofficial visit sitting on the baseline bear the Tar Heels bench.

Hayes is a prospect that has been on UNC’s radar for a few months now and is making his second unofficial visit to Chapel Hill this season. He’s really started to become noticed around the country after an impressive AAU showing on the EYBL Circuit over the Summer.

Currently Hayes is ranked as the No. 33 prospect in the nation per 247 Sports’ composite rankings and is the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina.

He has an offer from NC State, Clemson, Tennessee and Wake Forest and could eventually land one from Roy Williams and UNC. The Tar Heels are starting to show significant interest in the recruit as they look to build their 2021 class.

There’s a long way to go in his recruitment as he’s only a sophomore but he’s a name to keep an eye on as his recruitment heats up over the next year or so.
