Keion Brooks could make his decision any day now with six schools still in the running but could the UNC Basketball program pull him out of the Midwest?

A decision from Class of 2019 five-star wing Keion Brooks could come any day now according to the rumblings around the recruiting universe but will the recruit stay close to home?

The Indiana product is one of the top recruiting targets left on North Carolina’s board but they have some tough competition. The wing is reportedly down to UNC, Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana and Kentucky, all but three of those schools pretty much in the Midwest.

The UCLA Bruins are still involved but the firing of Steve Alford has all but eliminated them.

UNC is the lone school that isn’t relatively close to his hometown of La Porte, Indiana. There have been some reports that Brooks would love to stay close to home and play for the Hoosiers but attending Michigan State and Kentucky wouldn’t put him too far from his hometown.

The Tar Heels have stayed in the race for Brooks as it goes down to the wire, earning an official visit from the five-star recruit.

Plucking him out of the Midwest won’t be easy but one recruiting analyst thinks that if any team has a shot, it’s UNC.

Rivals.com reporter Corey Evans posted his weekly Twitter Tuesday article in which he answers recruiting questions that are tweeted to him. This week one of the questions was based on Brooks and his recruitment.

Evans answered it saying that he thinks Brooks will end up at Indiana but don’t count out the Tar Heels:

"If not Indiana, watch for Kentucky, Michigan State or North Carolina. The Tar Heels may have the greatest chance of luring another Midwest prospect to its campus but Brooks belongs to a fairly tight-knit family and has created a strong bond with former travel teammate and IU pledge Trayce Jackson-Davis"

There really hasn’t been many hints on where Brooks is leaning as people connect the dots to Indiana due to it being the in-state school.

His recruitment has been quiet of late as well outside of a few in-home meetings with Indiana and Kentucky. Brooks could meet with UNC head coach Roy Williams again before his decision but if that were to happen, it would need to happen soon.
