UNC Basketball head coach Roy Williams was in Raleigh to watch a 2020 recruiting target on Saturday night

Saturday wasn’t a good day for the North Carolina Tar Heels on the basketball court as they were blown out by Louisville in their home opener in Atlantic Coast Conference play. UNC flat out looked bad against the Cardinals and dropped to 2-1 on the year in the conference.

Following the game, head coach Roy Williams spoke about his teams struggles and flat out said his team isn’t playing good basketball right now.

Williams didn’t have long to think about that loss as he was back on the recruiting trail Saturday night. The head coach went down the road to Raleigh to watch a 2020 recruiting target on Saturday and it turned out to be an impressive game.

Class of 2020 five-star power forward Isaiah Todd has been on UNC’s radar for a while now and Williams is putting in the effort to go see him.

The 6-foot-10, 195-pound Todd and Trinity Academy Of Raleigh took on Kadin Shedrick and Holly Springs in a battle of big men on Saturday night in the City of Oaks Classic. Shedrick is a top 100 player in the 2019 class and is committed to Virginia.

Todd hit the game-winning free throw with just a second on the clock to give Trinity Christian a 61-60 win over Holly Springs. The power forward finished with 20 points in the game and 18 of those came in the second half.

The junior out of Raleigh is rally elevating his game and is becoming one of the top players in the 2020 class. He’s currently ranked No. 13 by 247 Sports and is the No. 2 power forward in the 2020 class.

Todd has become a key recruit for Williams and his staff as they hope to add another dominant big to the 2020 class with center Day’Ron Sharpe already verbally committed.
