UNC Basketball recruiting target Isaiah Todd is not in a rush to make any decisions regarding his recruitment

Class of 2020 power forward Isaiah Todd has become a top target for the University of North Carolina and the Tar Heels haven’t been shy to watch him lately.

With four-star center Day’Ron Sharpe already committed, the Tar Heels would love to add the five-star Todd to their class. Head coach Roy Williams has watched Todd play over the past few months, with the most recent time coming last week at the John Wall Invitational.

Todd has also made a few unofficial visits to UNC over that time span, taking in a game and checking out the campus.

While the Tar Heels and Todd appear to share a mutual interest, don’t expect anything big to happen soon.

Todd caught up with the USA Today’s Jason Jordan during the John Wall Invitational to discuss his recruitment and where things stand. UNC, Kansas, Vanderbilt,Maryland, USC and Oklahoma State are some of the teams that are recruiting him hard right now but he’s not ready to take an official visits.

The recruit also told Jordan that while he’s keeping in touch with coaches from those programs, he’s in no rush. Todd likely wont cut down his list or take any visits soon and is in “no hurry” to speed up his recruitment.

"Todd said he’s “not in a hurry” to cut his list or take visits; he’s more in the information-gathering stage.“I’m keeping in touch with all of the coaches,” Todd said. “We just talk about regular things, but it’s been pretty cool just getting to know everyone.”"

For now, the Tar Heels will have to continue to pursue Todd and hope that when he’s ready they will get an official visit. That likely won’t happen for a while and a decision for his recruitment is probably still a year or so away.

If the Tar Heels were to land the five-star Todd, it would be a huge boost to their 2020 class and would certainly have them in the Top 10.
