Tight end Eric Ebron has been named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career and he did it with his new team

Former North Carolina Tar Heels tight end Eric Ebron is having a career year for the Indianapolis Colts after signing with the franchise in the offseason and now he’s being rewarded for it.

The 25-year-old Ebron was one of the players from the AFC that was named to the 2019 NFL Pro Bowl to be played in January. Ebron joined rookie teammate Quenton Nelson as the only two Colts players to be named the Pro Bowl as the team is chasing a playoff berth.

After spending four seasons with the Detroit Lions, Ebron’s fifth-year option wasn’t picked up by the franchise as they decided to move on. Ebron then made the choice to join the Colts and play with quarterback Andrew Luck, a move that has paid off so far.

Through 14 games this season, Ebron has 59 receptions for 662 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns. He also has a rushing touchdown on the season.

Ebron’s turnaround has a big one and the move to Indianapolis has pretty much saved his career.

With the Colts in the mix for the AFC Playoffs, Ebron has the chance to come up big down the stretch here in the final two games. The Colts will host the New York Giants in Week 16 before hitting the road and going to Tennessee in Week 17.

As it stands going into Week 16 of the season, the Colts currently hold the No. 7 seed at 8-6 overall. The No. 6 seed Baltimore Ravens also sit at 8-6 as do the No. 8 Titans.

Winning out likely gets the Colts into the playoffs, assuming the Ravens lose a game and one of those wins from Indianapolis would come over Tennessee. But if the Colts can go 1-1, they will need some help to get in.

Either way, Ebron can help the Colts reach the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season.
