UNC head coach Roy Williams and his staff are in Florida to watch the top 2019 guard in the class as well as commit Armando Bacot

Fresh off his team’s big win over then No. 4 Gonzaga on Saturday night, University of North Carolina Tar Heels’ head coach Roy Williams was out on the recruiting trail this week.

The Tar Heels don’t have another game until Saturday when they play No. 19 Kentucky in the United Center in Chicago. With some time until then, Williams and his staff plan to go to Florida for the 2018 City of Palms Classic hosted in Fort Myers, Florida.

On Monday night, UNC assistant Brad Frederick was on hand to watch class of 2019 five-star guard Cole Anthony. The combo guard is the top target remaining on UNC’s 2019 recruiting board and put on a show in Monday’s session.

Anthony scored 25 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 9 assists in the Oak Hill win.

With Oak Hill’s win on Monday, they will next play on Wednesday in the tournament and Williams is expected to attend.

According to Jake Weingarten, Williams as well as staff from Notre Dame will watch Anthony’s next game on Wednesday as Oak Hill will take on Olive Branch High School.

In addition to watching Anthony, Williams and his staff are also expected to watch 2019 commit Armando Bacot at the tournament. The IMG Academy center will be on the court Tuesday afternoon against Gray Collegiate Academy.

Anthony continues to be a very important recruit for the Tar Heels in their 2019 class that has Bacot and point guard Jeremiah Francis signed. UNC is in need of some help on the wing with Cameron Johnson, Kenny Williams and Luke Maye all graduating after this year and freshman Nassir Little expected to leave for the NBA Draft.

The combo guard has already taken his official visit to UNC and has taken two unofficial visits to the campus over the past few months.
