One of the top players in the 2019 recruiting class, Cole Anthony, is on campus to visit UNC Wednesday night

The North Carolina Tar Heels had two surprise visits for Wednesday night’s home game in the Dean Dome against UNC-Wilmington.

Class of 2019 five-star combo guard Cole Anthony as well as well as 2020 five-star forward Isiah Todd are in attendance, both making surprise unofficial visits for the game according to Inside Carolina.

This is Anthony’s third visit to UNC as he took an unofficial back in August and then an official visit in late September, doing so with 2019 commit Armando Bacot.

But Wednesday’s visit was a surprise as Anthony was joined by two Oak Hill coaches. He recently trimmed down his list to six schools including the Tar Heels along with Notre Dame, Oregon, Wake Forest, Georgetown and Miami.

Anthony has taken three official visits so far, visiting UNC, Oregon and Notre Dame.

This is certainly good news for the Tar Heels getting this surprise visit and comes after they have missed out on some important wings in the 2019 class. With Bacot and Jeremiah Francis signed, head coach Roy Williams would love to add the five-star Anthony to this class.

Anthony would give them another dynamic scorer on the wing, something that will be a major need beginning in 2019.

As for Todd, he’s ranked as the No. 13 player in the 2020 class and the No. 1 player in the state of Virginia. After he received an offer from Williams, the head coach invited him to come visit anytime he wants.

It looks like Todd took up Williams on that offer.

While Todd is still a long ways away from making his decision, it’s also a good sign seeing him on campus. When he’s set to take his official visits, the Tar Heels will likely get one as they appear to be the early favorite in his recruitment.
