The UNC Basketball programs leaves November with a 6-2 record, taking a lot of positives, but also their fair share of negatives from the first month of the season.

Time’s flying by as it’s December and we are a month into the college basketball season already.

For the North Carolina Tar Heels, they have traveled all over the country adding up almost 6,000 total miles traveled, starting the season off with two straight road games before opening up Roy Williams Court, spending time in Las Vegas against stiff competition, and saw themselves play against two ranked teams – three including Texas, entered the AP Poll following their win against the Tar Heels, who have their highest rating since Shaka Smart took over

The Tar Heels have the pieces to be an elite team, and at times have shown their potential, but the potential is a scary word.

Carolina has a couple more tough tests in the non-conference before getting ready for the gauntlet of the ACC schedule, so there is still a lot to gain from the next couple of weeks.

With games against no. 1 Gonzaga, no. 10 Kentucky and Harvard, the Tar Heels will be tested in more ways than one.

We have learned a lot – positives and negatives. Here are the five takeaways from the month of November for the Tar Heels and what they need to improve on moving forward.
