Is the UNC Basketball program starting to pick up some momentum for recruit Zeke Nnaji following his visit to Chapel Hill?

The North Carolina Tar Heels entered the race for four-star power forward Zeke Nnaji a little late.

It was after Nnaji’s final official visit to Purdue that head coach Roy Williams met with him for an in-home visit in Minnesota. Williams showed interest in Nnaji as he’s hoping to add him to his 2019 recruiting class that already includes five-star center Armando Bacot and three-star point guard Jeremiah Francis.

The Tar Heels were able to land an unofficial visit from Nnaji after he took all five of his visits and released his final list. Despite not getting an official, Williams may have made a big enough of an impression to give the Tar Heels a shot.

Nnaji wrapped up his official visit this weekend to Chapel Hill and by the looks of it, things went well.

After Nnaji’s official visit, the Tar Heels picked up a few predictions in the 247 Sports Crystal Ball predictor.  The last three predictions have come up for the Tar Heels and it has shrunken Kansas’ lead in the predictor.

Kentucky reporter Chris Fisher (Cat’s Pulse), Duke reporter Andrew Slater (The Devil’s Den) and 247 Sports national analyst Jerry Meyer all put in predictions for UNC.

The Tar Heels now have a 27% chance to land Nnaji, tied with Kentucky for the second-best odds in the predictor. Kanas still leads at 36% but it’s apparent that UNC is starting to pickup some momentum.

The big prediction usually comes from 247 Sports analyst Evan Daniels, who is usually right more times than not. Once his prediction is in, you’ll get an idea of where Nnaji will go.

Following the visit, Inside Carolina’s Sherrell McMillan put out a subscriber’s only piece that hinted Nnaji’s visit went well. McMillan’s title suggest that UNC is fully in contention for the four-star power forward, which is good news for the Tar Heels.

Nnaji is set to make his decision on Friday, ending his recruitment. Will the Tar Heels land the four-star recruit? Or will Williams have to look elsewhere for another impact player?
