UNC Basketball head coach Roy Williams travels to the Midwest to visit five-star wing Keion Brooks over the weekend

While it was a big weekend on campus at the University of North Carolina hosting recruiting targets, men’s basketball head coach Roy Williams didn’t waste any time getting back on the recruiting trail.

Following Friday’s Late Night With Roy event at the Dean Dome in Chapel Hill, Williams went back out on the recruiting trail Sunday to visit a wing in the 2019 class.

Five-star wing Keion Brooks tweeted out on Sunday that he had an in-home visit with Williams and assistant coach Hubert Davis in La Porte, Indiana.

Brooks is ranked as the No. 21 overall recruit in the 2019 class by 247 Sports and trimmed his list down to six back in September. Indiana, UNC, Michigan State, Purdue, Kentucky and UCLA all made the final six with only some of those schools getting visits.

The talented small forward is set to visit North Carolina on November 2nd, the same weekend five-star center Vernon Carey Jr. will also visit. The two recruits are the last scheduled visits for UNC this Fall and it could be a big day if Williams eventually lands one of them.

The general thought is that Brooks will stay in the Midwest with Indiana as the favorites to land him right now. But if there was a team that could pry him away from the Midwest, UNC has a shot at doing soon.

Landing Brooks would certainly help fill a big void on the wing for the Tar Heels, especially after missing out on Josh Green just weeks ago.

Williams already has five-star center Armando Bacot and four-star point guard Jeremiah Francis verbally committed but this class has the chance of being a special one if he can add some more to it.
