5-star prospect will choose between Arizona, Kansas, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Villanova

Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tar Heels took an all-in approach on big men in the class of 2019, and one their top targets could be announcing his decision any day.

For months, Williams and his coaching staff have prioritized Kansas native Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. Over the last year, the 6-foot-9, 235-pound Robinson-Earl has established himself as one of the best front court players in the nation, and one that the Tar Heels would love to add to the mix next season.

The five-star power forward played his first three years of basketball at Bishop Miege High School in Mission, Kansas, but has since moved to Bradenton, Florida to team up with UNC commit Armando Bacot and former UNC target — now Arizona commit — Josh Green at IMG Academy.

Robinson-Earl’s junior season at Bishop Miege was one to remember. With averages of 21.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, he displayed both the offensive and defensive prowess that caught the attention of college coaches across the country. He did nothing to hurt that over the summer, following it up with a strong showing on the Under Armour Association circuit where he averaged a double-double for KC Run GMC.

Ranked 18th overall in the 247Sports Composite, Robinson-Earl has been praised as one of the more polished offensive players in the class of 2019. He’s an efficient scorer who doesn’t require a high volume of shots to make an impact on the game’s final score. He’s a good scorer around the rim, out to mid-range and knocks down a high percentage of his free throws.

Robinson-Earl completed his final official visit on Monday. After returning from the University of Arizona, there’s a feeling around his recruitment that he could commit at any time.

Kansas has long been seen as the prohibitive favorite in Robinson-Earl’s recruitment. That’s at least partially due to his proximity to the school throughout the first 17 years of his life, but also thanks to his father’s ties to the school. According to Rivals’ Eric Bossi, though, there’s a growing sense that some of Robinson-Earl’s other finalists could be making a late push.

"“At least headed into the Arizona visit, both Villanova and North Carolina were making things interesting and it’s important to note that Arizona got into the mix thanks to a strong unofficial visit last winter. Notre Dame, does look like it would be a bit of a surprise.”"

So, while Bill Self and the Jayhawks still appear to have the upper hand in this recruitment, there may still be some space for other programs to sneak in and steal the talented prospect from the Sunflower state.

Robinson-Earl is the No. 4 power forward in the class of 2019, and the fourth-ranked prospect in the state of Florida. 100 percent of his Crystal Ball predictions point toward Kansas as his likely destination next fall.
