Tar Heels target Wendell Moore has officially made his decision on where he will attend college by picking one of his four finalists

The long recruitment of five-star wing Wendell Moore is officially over.

On Monday night, Moore announced his decision to attend Duke University, picking the Blue Devils over the University of North Carolina, N.C. State and Wake Forest at Cox Mill High School. The decision ends a long recruitment of the wing and gives Duke their first verbal in the2019 class.

Early on in his recruitment, Moore appeared to be headed to Chapel Hill to play for the Tar Heels as head coach Roy Williams offered him early.

The Tar Heels were rumored to be the favorites to land Moore, until Duke swooped in with an offer almost a year to the date of his announcement. The second Duke offered Moore, the tides started to turn in the recruitment.

Moore called Duke his dream school and for the past year he has trended to the Blue Devils. The recruit didn’t visit UNC during this past year and his upcoming official for Late Night With Roy has been cancelled.

There’s some disappointment for the Tar Heels who would have loved to have Moore fill a void on the wing. But now the lengthy recruitment is over and UNC can move on to other targets.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Moore is a big get for the Blue Devils.

As mentioned before, he’s the first verbal for Duke in the 2019 class and he could open up the door for a few other recruits to follow.

UNC currently has point guard Jeremiah Francis and center Armando Bacot verbally committed but Williams would love to add at least one more wing player. Landing two more wings would be a big help for Williams and his future roster.

The Tar Heels are in the running for five-star combo guard Cole Anthony and they appear to be the favorites as of now. Anthony recently took his visit to Chapel Hill two weekends ago and UNC is trending in his Crystal Ball.

It’s unknown when Anthony will make a decision but landing him would certainly improve UNC’s 2019 class.
