Antawn Jamison returns to Chapel Hill to host Late Night With Roy along with former UNC swimmer Molly Sullivan

North Carolina Tar Heels fans will get their first look at the 2018-19 basketball team with the unofficial tip off to the season at Late Night With Roy on Friday, October 12th.

The 16th annual event will be held in the Dean Dome featuring basketball drills, a scrimmage, dance routines and much more. It’s one of the most anticipated events leading up to the start of the season and is always a good time.

At last year’s event, the Tar Heels celebrated their 2017 National Championship by hanging up a banner at the Dean Dome with the event hosted by former UNC standout Kenny Smith.

This year, the Tar Heels are unveiling the new Roy Williams Court that was dedicated to the legendary coach back in August during a special event. It will certainly be one of the more memorable moments of the night and something for fans to enjoy as the activities go on.

With LNWR  just over a week away, the athletics program has officially announced the co-hosts for the special event.  According to GoHeels, former UNC Basketball standout Antawn Jamison will co-host the event with former UNC swimming standout Molly Sullivan.

Jamison played three seasons with the Tar Heels before forgoing his senior year to enter the 1998 NBA Draft. He was selected No. 4 overall by the Toronto Raptors and was later traded to the Golden State Warriors with his former college teammate Vince Carter.

The forward was named the 1998 ACC Player of the Year and made the All-ACC First Team all three years at UNC. He returned to graduate with a B.A. in Afro-American and African studies in 1999.

Sullivan won an ACC champion swimmer and was an NCAA qualifier during her time at UNC. After graduating in 2002 she got a job in reporting and was a sideline reporter for the NBA for seven years.

Most recently, Sullivan was hired as a sideline reporter for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The festivities will begin with the volleyball team hosting Pitt at 5 p.m. and then the women’s basketball team will begin the LNWR events at 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to get to the Dean Dome early with doors opening at 4 p.m.
