Will 2019 combo guard Cole Anthony join Armando Bacot in Chapel Hill as part of a package deal? The duo may have hinted at it over the weekend.

The North Carolina Tar Heels already have two verbal commitments in their 2019 class with point guard Jeremiah Francis and center Armando Bacot. Francis became the first player to offer his verbal back in August in 2017 and just a year later, Bacot offered his verbal in August of 2018.

With a four-star point guard and a five-star center, head coach Roy Williams is off to a good start in his 2019 class. But he’s hoping to add some more to it and has several of the top prospects in the class on his priority list.

Two weeks ago both Josh Green and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl were on campus to visit and they are teammates with Bacot at IMG Academy. Bacot has expressed interest in helping recruit more members to UNC’s 2019 class.

One would think that he’s pursuing both Green and Robinson-Earl to come to UNC and he can be in their ear whenever essentially. But what if Bacot was part of a package deal with a different player?

Over this past weekend UNC hosted combo guard Cole Anthony and Bacot for their official visits to Chapel Hill. The two are good friends and have developed a bond throughout the recruiting process, deciding to take the visits together.

While on campus, Bacot hinted at what could be a big package deal for the Tar Heels with this Twitter post:

Anthony is one of the top players in the 2019 class as a five-star recruit and No. 3 overall in the 247 Sports class rankings. While Anthony has kept quiet about his recruitment, outside of a final 12 and his official visits, the thought is that UNC are one of the early favorites to land him.

The combo guard does have a total of 13 offers with UNC, Duke, Kansas, Notre Dame and Oregon headlining the list.

If the duo are a package deal, UNC has already secured Bacot’s verbal commitment which is a heck of a start. That could mean it’s just a waiting game for Anthony and his decision.
