The UNC Basketball program has officially offered a five-star power forward in the 2020 class on Thursday night

Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tar Heels officially opened up practice for the upcoming 2018-19 college basketball season as they prepare for what is a new era of basketball in Chapel Hill.

UNC is welcoming in a really good 2018 recruiting class with Nassir Little, Coby White and Rechon Black while also bringing back Kenny Williams, Cam Johnson, Luke Maye, Seventh Woods, Brandon Robinson, Sterling Manley and Garrison Brooks.

The Tar Heels will be pretty deep this year and should at least contend for the Atlantic Coast Conference title.

While they prepare for this year, Williams has been hot on the recruiting trail trying to land some big recruits in the 2019 and 2020 classes. Williams already has a big verbal commitment from Day’Ron Sharpe for 2020 and he’s got his eyes on a five-star power forward as well.

Five-star target Isaiah Todd was on UNC’s campus Thursday night for an unofficial visit and he left with his offer from the Tar Heels.

According to Inside Carolina’s Sherrell McMillan, Todd arrived on campus around 3 p.m. EST on Thursday and left hours later. During his visit, Williams officially offered the Virginia native and is showing significant interest in the post player.

Todd is currently ranked No. 14 overall in 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings and is the No. 2 power forward and No. 1 player in the state of Virginia in this 2020 class.

With the new UNC offer, that bumps his total to 19 as he has offers from programs like Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville and Memphis among others. He’s set to take an official visit to Maryland in October and could eventually end up in Chapel Hill for one of his officials.

As of now the Tar Heels lead the Crystal Ball predictions for the 6-foot-10 power forward, holding the edge over Kansas.
