Class of 2019 center Armando Bacot announces he will take an official visit to UNC after verbally committing

Two very important recruits are on the University of North Carolina’s campus this weekend for official visits as IMG Academy teammates Josh Green and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl decided to do their visits together. The duo has been on campus since Friday and are both five-star recruits and top 20 players in the 2019 class.

With this weekend being a big one for visits, it’s just the start of a very important next few months as Roy Williams looks to build on his 2019 recruiting class.

Next weekend the Tar Heels are set to host another big recruit in five-star guard Cole Anthony.

The combo guard is a Top 3 player in the 2019 class and has been high on UNC’s radar for months now as Williams has gone to watch him as much as he could during the open evaluation period.

But Anthony won’t be the only player visiting on campus.

Per Rivals, five-star center Armando Bacot announced he will take his official visit next weekend to Chapel Hill. The center told Rivals early on Saturday morning about his upcoming visit.

During their recruitments, Bacot and Anthony have developed a bond and are considered really good friends. Bacot even went as far as admitting he wanted to help recruit Anthony to UNC.

Bacot offered his verbal commitment to the Tar Heels back in August and became the first five-star big man to commit to UNC since Tony Bradley Jr. back in 2016.

With the addition of Bacot, Williams landed a prized recruit to go along with point guard Jeremiah Francis who offered his verbal back in August of 2017. The two recruits have given UNC a good head start in the 2019 class but Williams wants more.

Anthony, Green and Robinson-Earl are all high on UNC’s list and the Tar Heels figure to land at least one of this as it stands now. Williams adding at least another post player and a wing could make this one of his best classes in a long time at UNC.
