Roy Williams has offered another point guard in the 2019 class as he continues to land a big commitment

University of North Carolina head coach Roy Williams has his eyes set out on a new recruiting target in the 2019 class.

After missing out on point guard Tre Mann last week, Williams has now turned his attention over to another player at the position in the class as he continues to look to add another point guard.

Sherrell McMillan of Inside Carolina reported over the weekend that Williams has officially offered class of 2019 point guard Boogie Ellis, making him the newest recruiting target adding him to the board. McMillan noted that Ellis got UNC’s attention during the July open evaluation period when Williams watched him.

Now, weeks later he has an offer.

The four-star point guard out of San Diego, California is ranked 72nd overall in the 247 Sports Composite rankings. He has a total of 22 offers with a lot of them coming from programs on the West Coast.

Arizona, USC, Gonzaga, Oregon, Cal, and San Diego State are all involved as are UNC, N.C. State, Memphis, Oklahoma, and Georgia Tech.

With UNC jumping into his recruitment late, it’s unknown how good of a chance they have to land him. The 247 Sports Crystal Ball currently has the USC Trojans as the heavy favorites at 100 percent.

Rivals reporter Evan Bossi revealed that Ellis was actually on a visit to USC when he received the news of Williams and UNC offering.

Ellis did have a big Summer with impressive showings during the July open evaluation periods and has really risen his game of late. He’s going into his senior year at Mission Valley High School but there’s currently no word on when he will make a decision.

We will see in the coming weeks just how interested Ellis is in the Tar Heels and if they will get an official visit or not.
