Five star recruit Wendell Moore has appeared to cut his list down to just four schools after canceling a visit earlier this week

Class of 2019 wing Wendell Moore is set to take the next step in his recruitment by taking official visits this Fall.

A few weeks back, Moore announced he would be taking five official visits as he named the schools on his final list. North Carolina, Duke, N.C. State, Wake Forest and South Carolina all made the cut and all were expected to get a visit.

But on Thursday, Moore made a big update to his recruitment cutting his list down to four.

Instead of taking five visits, Moore will take four as he’s cancelled his upcoming visit to South Carolina according to The State. Moore’s coach at Cox Mill High School, Jody Barbee, told the State that the recruit has cancelled his upcoming visit to Columbia that was originally scheduled for next weekend on Sept. 8.

That essentially eliminates the Gamecocks in the race for Moore, leaving just four schools in the state of North Carolina still in it.

Moore’s first visit will be this weekend to Raleigh visiting N.C. State as the Wolfpack open the college football season against James Madison. Following that trip, Moore will take a bit of a break.

He will head to Duke on Sept. 22nd and then Wake Forest on Sept. 29. Moore closes out his schedule with a trip to Chapel Hill on October 12th for the weekend.

UNC will get the final visit for Moore and have one more chance to make a lasting impression.

Head coach Roy Williams has pursued Moore for a few years now, making him a priority in the 2019 class. The Tar Heels were once thought of as the favorite for Moore early in his recruitment and the talk was that he was close to committing last Fall. But then Duke swooped in.

After Coach K offered Moore in Fall 2017, the momentum shifted to the Blue Devils as they are the rumored leaders.

UNC still has some work to do if they want to land Moore but getting the final visit could work in their favor.
