Fran Fraschilla likes the potential of North Carolina’s small lineup

It’s just over two months until the start of the 2018-19 college basketball season, and despite a handful of practices and a couple of exhibition games in the Bahamas, several pressing questions still surround the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Is Seventh Woods ready to take over the role of lead guard, or is a freshman Coby White better suited for the job? Does Sterling Manley’s progression warrant a spot in the Tar Heels’ starting lineup? Is it possible that Nassir Little, a projected top-5 pick in next year’s NBA Draft, comes off the bench for North Carolina?

UNC fans have been speculating about these things since the season abruptly ended in mid-March. And while there are a number of differing opinions regarding the Tar Heels’ roster and personnel, one notion seems to be pretty universal across the board: this North Carolina team has a chance to be pretty good.

That sentiment was recently echoed by ESPN analyst and commentator Fran Fraschilla. The former coach turned TV personality took to Twitter to address his thoughts on the Tar Heels and their prospects for the upcoming season.

Fraschilla’s thoughts mirror that of a lot of North Carolina fans that are hoping to see a pair of freshmen in the Tar Heels’ starting lineup. There’s been a lot of excitement among UNC fans when it comes to Nassir Little and Coby White, and there’s no denying the potential explosiveness that they add to the Tar Heels’ lineup.

Whether or not Williams decides to go with a younger, smaller lineup this season is yet to be seen. We know that he greatly prefers a traditional lineup — one that would likely see the inclusion of sophomore big man Sterling Manley — but the talent of his incoming underclassmen is undeniable.
