The UNC Basketball program made the cut on Josh Green’s final six list that was released on Monday afternoon.

It’s been two weeks since the North Carolina Tar Heels offer class of 2019 recruit Josh Green a scholarship and for the most part his recruitment has been quiet.

That is until now.

Not much has come out about Green’s recruitment as the Australian-born player has been busy playing during the open evaluation periods. Following those periods in July, Green decided to take some time with his family and talk about the schools in his recruitment.

On Monday, Green provided a key update to his recruitment by announcing his final six and there’s some good news for Roy Williams and the Tar Heels.

Green tweeted out his top six, including the Tar Heels, Arizona, Kansas, Villanova, UNLV and USC on Monday afternoon. The five-star recruit will now focus on these six schools and will likely make his decision sometime in 2019.

The Top 10 prospect has caught the attention of Williams and his staff for his play throughout the AAU circuit in 2018. He finally earned that offer from the Tar Heels at the end of July and they appear to be the favorites to land him.

UNC currently holds the lead in the 247 Sports Crystal Ball predictor and it’s not shocking that they ended up in his Top 6. But it gets better.

Green spoke to Rivals reporter Corey Evans about his final six and he spoke highly of the Tar Heels:

"“Growing up, it was my dream school. It is very cool to be able to say that I could have the chance to play there and for Roy Williams. It is a program with an amazing basketball history that is great at developing its players but also winning a lot of games.”"

That’s certainly some positive news for the Tar heels as Green not only called UNC his dream school but ends it by saying they are great at developing players and winning a lot of games.

For now, the Tar Heels appear to be the team to beat for the combo guard but with schools like Kansas and Arizona on his list, don’t be shocked if they make a run at Green.

Next for Green will be to take official visits as one team will likely be left off from his list.
