Linebacker Lawrence Taylor will be featured on an episode of ‘A Football Life’ set to air this Fall on the NFL Network

Former University of North Carolina and New York Giants star Lawrence Taylor will be back on your television set this Fall. At least for an hour, that is.

The legendary linebacker will be the subject of an upcoming episode of the NFL Network’s “A Football Life” this Fall, as the series returns for 11 more episodes. The series documents the life of a former NFL player, coach or front office member, telling the story of their journey from childhood to the pros and after that.

Earlier this week, the show revealed the trailer for the upcoming eighth season as it showed the players and coaches that will be featured this year.

Joining Taylor this season will be episodes on Brian Dawkins, Bill Cowher, Thurman Thomas, Carson Palmer, Willie McGinist, Doug Williams, Mike Holmgren, Chris Collinsworth and the late Dwight Clark.

Check out the trailer below:

The show will debut season number eight on September 14th and will air Friday nights on the NFL Network. There is no word on when Taylor’s episode will run just yet but expect the channel to start promoting the upcoming episodes very soon.

Taylor had an impressive four years at UNC, dominating on the field in 1980 and helping lead the Tar Heels to the ACC title. For his efforts that year, Taylor was named a Unanimous All-American, something a total of three UNC players have ever accomplished. UNC decided to retire Taylor’s No. 98 and he’s considered the greatest Tar Heel to ever play.

The linebacker was drafted with the No. 2 overall pick in the 1981 NFL Draft by the New York Giants, who he played his entire career with before retiring after the 1993 season. He won two Super Bowls, made 10 Pro Bowls, was an 8-time First Team All-Pro and was the 1986 NFL MVP.

Taylor was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999.
