UNC Basketball target Cole Anthony updates his recruitment through a new blog with USA Today

Class of 2019 guard Cole Anthony has become one of the top players in the recruiting rankings after elevating his play over the past few months. The combo guard is currently ranked No. 3 in the 247 Sports composite rankings and is drawing a lot of interest from several top teams in the country.

One of those teams is the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Head coach Roy Williams has shown a lot of interest in Anthony, making it a priority to watch him in the July evaluation period more than once. Anthony hasn’t officially said if he has an offer from UNC yet but it’s highly-likely he has one and he’s listed as having an offer by 247 Sports.

Anthony will enter his senior year at Oak Hill Academy and has teamed up with USA Today to blog about the upcoming year and his recruitment. It’s the exact same thing UNC commit Coby White did while spending his senior year at Greenfield.

On Wednesday, Anthony kicked off his blog by posting an entry and discussed the latest on his recruitment.

Last week Anthony made an unofficial visit to both UNC and Wake Forest while participating in the nearby CP3 Camp. Anthony said that both schools were his first two unofficial visits of his recruitment. He then went on to say that he enjoyed the experience:

"I went to Wake Forest and UNC while I was at the CP3 Camp. They were actually my first two unofficial visits and I had a lot of fun just seeing the campus and talking with the coaches and the guys."

It’s certainly a good sign for UNC that Anthony decided to stop by Chapel Hill for an unofficial.

While it’s still early in his recruitment, coaches have begun to reach out more and more. The combo guard did say that his dad takes care of talking to the coaches and that he’s focused on the school that is the best fit for him.

Anthony hasn’t made a list just yet but one could be coming soon. In the blog, Anthony says that he doesn’t have any plans for official visits and plans on cutting his list down at the end of Summer.

When that does happen, we fully expect UNC to be on that list and likely get an official visit before he makes his decision.
