Nassir Little could make a run at being the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft according to this college basketball analyst

The University of North Carolina Tar Heels 2018 recruiting class is headlined by five-star forward Nassir Little who was ranked as a Top 10 recruit by almost all recruiting rankings. The Florida native is not only one of the top players in the country but he’s also their top NBA draft prospect since Harrison Barnes committed to the program.

Little is expected to play just one year at UNC as he’s already received some hype and is considered a top 5 pick by many before he has even stepped foot on the Chapel Hill campus.

But even with being considered a top 5 pick, his stock continues to climb.

The latest analyst to hype up Little’s play is ESPN’s Jeff Borzello who broke down the class of 2018 by NBA talent. At the top he mentions Duke’s Zion Williamson who was the No. 2 player in ESPN’s class and then goes on to talk about his teammates R.J. Barrett and Cam Reddish.

The thought is that Duke’s No. 1 recruiting class could dominate the top 5 in the 2019 NBA Draft, placing three guys in those slots.

As for Little? Well, there’s potential to climb into that No. 1 spot according to Borzello. Here’s what he had to say:

"Little is a sleeper for the No. 1 pick in the 2019 draft. Right now, Jonathan Givony pegs him at No. 2, despite his finishing No. 6 in the 2018 class. He has been compared to Kawhi Leonard for his ability to excel at both ends of the floor, and his stock rose significantly in the spring after winning MVP honors at the McDonald’s All American Game and Jordan Brand Classic."

If you’re a UNC fan and have been following Little’s career throughout high school, this doesn’t come as a shocker.

Little has really elevated his game since 2017 and dominated in high school all-star games including winning the MVP at the McDonald’s All-American Game and co-MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic. He also won a state title with Orlando Christian Prep.

The forward is expected to come in and have a big impact right away fro Roy Williams’ Tar Heels and if he does that, we could hear his named called next June with the No. 1 overall pick.
