Coby White wraps up his blog detailing his senior year of high school as he has enrolled at UNC

The North Carolina Tar Heels basketball program has welcomed an incoming freshman class for 2019 that was ranked top 10 nationally with a very talented trip. Both Nassir Little and Coby White were ranked in the Top 20 and Rechon Black is a four-star player that is versatile and can help the program on both sides of the court.

With the July here, the trio of freshmen officially arrived on campus a few weeks back and have begun Summer School at UNC. The Summer session means classes, pickup games and exploring the campus as they prepare for the Fall season.

For White, it also means the end of his recruiting blog for USA Today.

White documented his senior year for the publication through a blog as he told his story and provided insight on his life for readers. The combo guard posted his final blog with USA Today and explained what it’s been like being on campus for the short time so far.

White discussed being a part of this important UNC recruiting class and rooming with both Little and Black. He also discussed winning the gold medal for Team USA in Canada last month as White was one of the top performers.

The Tar Heels will have an open spot in their lineup at point guard with Seventh Woods and White expected to battle for the starting spot. Roy Williams has insisted that White will be a point guard and he could end up winning that spot.

White told readers what he’s been working on the most and it could give him an advantage in winning the point guard spot:

"The things I’m working on the most is just being more of a leader and being way more talkative. I want to prove that even as a freshman I’m ready to step in and lead."

He also had something interesting to say about a teammate. The guard went on to say that everyone looks improved but he pointed out one key player that could surprise a lot of people:

"Everyone is looking improved, but I’d say Brandon Robinson is the guy who’s gonna surprise a lot of people this season. He’s been ballin’!"

Robinson will enter his junior year and has yet to really stand out for the Tar Heels. Part of that was a crowded backcourt over the years featuring Marcus Paige, Joel Berry, Seventh Woods, Theo Pinson, Justin Jackson, Cam Johnson and Kenny Williams.

As we go into 2018-19, Robinson will have the chance to win some playing time as a key member of the rotation. He’s flashed some signs of being a confident shooter but just hasn’t been consistent enough to earn Roy’s trust just yet.
