The UNC Football program adds two more commitments to its 2019 recruiting class after hosting a camp this past weekend

After a relatively quiet past few weeks, Larry Fedora and the University of North Carolina football program have secured two verbal commitments. Both coming as the program hosts the annual Larry Fedora Football One-Day Elite camps beginning on June 7th and running almost every day until the 16th.

The first commitment came on Thursday night as class of 2019 Athlete Welton Spottsville announced his verbal to UNC. Spottsville made the decision on Thursday night during a local news telecast, officially pledging to the Tar Heels.

The three-star North Carolina native became the fifth recruit to verbal to UNC and is expected to play wide receiver in college. Spottsville played both wide receiver and running back as well as some defensive back for Havelock High School.

Spottsville picked the Tar Heels over West Virginia and East Carolina and is the 46th-best player in the state of North Carolina. He was recruited by both Mike Ekeler and Luke Paschall as their efforts were enough to land a new piece on offense.

The second commitment of the weekend came on Saturday afternoon with defensive back Storm Duck offering his verbal.

Duck participated in Fedora’s camp over the weekend and after a session, he decided that UNC was the right fit for him.

The three-star recruit out of South Carolina was recruited by Tommy Thigpen, who joined Fedora’s staff this year. It’s Thigpen’s first recruit that has offered a verbal to the Tar Heels.

Duck is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound defensive back projects to play cornerback and has really good speed for the position. He picked the Tar Heels after drawing interest from 16 schools that offered him including South Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

The defensive back is the sixth member of UNC’s 2019 recruiting class which is ranked No. 55 in the nation and No. 10 in the ACC during the early stages.
