UNC Football: Five early questions for 2018 season
After a season that didn’t go according to plan, here are five questions that the UNC Football team needs to answer before going into the 2018 season.
It’s Memorial Day weekend and we are at the unofficial start of Summer.
NFL teams are in the midst of OTA’s and it is exciting to hear how new guys are fitting into team game plans and working within the units they are trying to make.
After having multiple guys drafted the past few seasons, the North Carolina Tar Heels have several players looking to make impacts this year on new teams. M.J. Stewart, Andre Smith, and Austin Proehl were lucky enough to hear their names called and will all be wearing something other than Carolina Blue this season.
Additionally, guys like Eric Ebron, Ryan Switzer, Elijah Hood, Jonathan Cooper, and Russell Bodine all switched teams this offseason and will be looking to show their new team why their old team was foolish not to retain them.
Finally, there are guys like Mitchell Trubisky, Mack Hollins, TJ Logan, and James Hurst who are looking to take a step up this season with the team they played for last year.
Meanwhile, on the college front, the Tar Heels finished up their spring practices earlier this year and though they didn’t play their annual Spring Game, there should be a lot of hope following a three-win season last year.
Of course, season’s like that also raise a lot of questions and the Tar Heels have plenty to answer.
So let’s take a look at five of those questions, going level by level through this Tar Heels team starting with a unit that did alright last season, the special teams unit.
