NFL Draft: Potential Landing spots for Austin Proehl
Austin Proehl is looking to continue his career in the NFL. What are the best landing spots for the Wide Receiver?
The NFL Draft is where dreams are made.
Last season the North Carolina Tar Heels saw five players get drafted, including number two overall pick Mitch Trubisky. It was quite a haul for a UNC program that hadn’t seen a player taken in the past couple of drafts.
This year’s draft would look to lean more toward the leaner years as MJ Stewart appears to be the only sure thing, though there is always a chance a Heel or two gets grabbed in the later rounds by a team that doesn’t want to play the undrafted free agent game.
One of those players is wide receiver Austin Proehl.
Proehl finished last season with 21 receptions for 337 yards and a touchdown. The yards were second most on the team, while the receptions ranked fifth.
The rankings may not have been as good as expected from the Senior but were definitely impressive considering Proehl missed half the season with an injury. Of course, it also shows just how bad the Tar Heels were last season overall.
Proehl’s best fit in the NFL would be in the slot where he can use his speed and hands, he wowed scouts with both at the Tampa regional combine, would be a huge asset to a team.
So where might he land?
Here are four teams in alphabetical order that might be good fits for the former Tar Heel wide receiver.
