2018 NFL Draft: Five landing spots for UNC linebacker Andre Smith

Smith could find himself playing with a former teammate in the Windy City.
The Bears decided to part ways with Jerrell Freeman and then saw Christian Jones sign with rival Detroit in the offseason. The two losses created a depth problem at inside linebacker for the Bears.
Danny Trevathan is projected to be a starter and if Chicago doesn’t address the position early, it will be former West Virginia linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski starting alongside him.
Either way, Chicago has a serious need for depth on the inside and a late round flier on Smith could solve that.
Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio worked with the linebackers unit last year and is expected to do the same again in 2018. Smith could learn a lot from Fangio and really pick up the game fast.
The Bears do have a seventh-round pick which is No. 224 overall. That could lead to them taking Smith on the final day of the draft.
