Five-star prospect will host multiple in-home visits

The North Carolina men’s basketball program will work toward securing its latest five-star commitment this week during an in-home visit with top-25 prospect Will Baker.

Baker is a 6-foot-11, 240-pound center from the class of 2019 who is hosting a number of in-home visits this week, which began with the Texas Longhorns on Sunday afternoon.

Baker will then visit with North Carolina head coach Roy Williams on Monday night, followed by a meeting with the Texas A&M coaching staff on Tuesday. The final visit that Baker will host this week at his home in Austin, Texas will be with the UCLA Bruins.

Baker stated in a recent interview with FloHoops that the four programs visiting him this week, along with Baylor, Kansas and Stanford, are the seven that have been recruiting him the hardest.

Regarding his experience with Roy Williams and the North Carolina coaching staff to this point, Baker said the following:

"“[Roy Williams and the staff] came down to watch me work out and they just let me know again that they really like me and they think I’m going to be a fit if I come there.”"

The Tar Heels are a 67 percent favorite to land Baker based on six early predictions on 247Sports. Texas and UCLA have one vote a piece, giving both programs a 17 percent chance of signing the five-star big man. It’s worth noting that the singular UCLA vote came just yesterday from 247Sports Director of Basketball Scouting, Jerry Meyer.

Along with the seven aforementioned schools, Baker has scholarship offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU and Virginia.

Baker is the No. 16 overall prospect in the class of 2019 according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s a top-5 center in the class and the No. 3 player in the state of Texas.
