Latest on future UNC football classes

The Tar Heels football program hosted its annual Pro Day on Tuesday with just over a dozen players running through drills for NFL scouts. Players like M.J. Stewart, Andre Smith and Austin Proehl are the most likely to be drafted come late April but others had the chance to showcase their skills as well.

It was more than just a Pro Day for the Tar Heels football program however.

They also had recruits on campus to check out the Pro Day and facilities including the newly remodeled Kenan Memorial Stadium.

The Tar Heels have a solid 2018 recruiting class that is ranked in the Top 25. The 2019 class got off to a great start with the commitment of three players. But recently they received some bad news.

Four-star verbal commit Hakeem Beamon announced his was reopening his recruitment after taking visits to other schools. The Tar Heels were able to land a verbal from Beamon back in 2017 but after Ohio State and Alabama got involved, he decided to re-open his commitment.

As for the recruits on campus this past week, here’s who was there:

Over the past few weeks, UNC has also sent out offers to several players and hosted a Junior Day.

Fedora and his staff are entering a big period here for the 2019 class as they hope to reel in some more big recruits.
