Jordyn Adams’ decision

The highlight of UNC’s 2018 football recruiting class which is ranked in the Top 25 is wide receiver, Jordyn Adams. The Green Hope star picked the Tar Heels in July of 2017 over Clemson, giving them a fringe five-star recruit.

Adams will play both football and baseball at UNC, if he enrolls.

The talented two-sport athlete could face a big decision before he even steps foot on campus in Chapel Hill. Adams is expected to be drafted in the 2018 MLB Draft and could opt to go pro instead of playing at UNC.

Now, for him to go pro and pass on UNC it’s likely going to have to be a first-round selection and possible high second round. If Adams is picked in the first round, that’s a lot of money to turn down to go to college.

He could get a signing bonus of around $400,000 if he’s selected in the first three rounds.

While Adams is really good at both sports, it appears as if baseball might have the higher ceiling for him. Adams just helped Green Hope reach the finals of the NHSI Tournament, something no North Carolina team has ever done.

He’s having a heck of a year on the diamond and is impressing scouts.

The other side of this is that Adams’ Father is a coach on UNC’s football team and he could opt to attend UNC for that.

As it stands right now, we believe that Adams will be playing both football and baseball at UNC next year. But as he continues to play well, his stock will rise and the decision might become even tougher.
