Roy Williams will pay a visit to class of 2019 recruit Matthew Hurt next week

University of North Carolina Tar Heels head coach Roy Williams is back on the recruiting and he’s after one of the better players in the 2019 class.

We already told you about Williams visiting class of 2019 center Will Baker this past week, traveling to Texas to see the five-star prospect. But now he’s due to visit another five-star player in the class.

According to Adam Zagoria of Zag’s Blog, Williams will take a trip to Minnesota to see power forward Matthew Hurt next week. Zagoria cited Hurt’s dad as his source:

As you can see above, Williams won’t the the only coach there.

Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, Kansas’ Bill Self and possibly Kentucky’s John Calipari will also visit the recruit according to Zagoria.

Hurt is ranked as the No. 4 overall player in the 2019 class and is the No.2 power forward according to 247 Sports’ rankings. He’s the top-ranked player in the state of Minnesota and at 6-foot-9, he would be a big post player for the Tar Heels.

Currently, Kansas is the leader in the 247 Sports Crystal Ball predictor at 50 percent with in-state Minnesota at 30 percent and UNC at 10 percent.

Williams took a trip to watch Hurt in December and has show significant interest in the prospect of late. Rivals recruiting analyst Corey Evans recently responded to a question about Hurt’s recruitment by saying the Tar Heels are one of the teams “showing the most interest” in the recruit.

Hurt has offers from the schools mentioned above along with Louisville, Florida, Arizona, Indiana, Notre Dame and Ohio State among others.
