After a disappointing end to the season, fresh faces will be ushering in a new era of Carolina Basketball.

Joel Berry and Theo Pinson will never again step on the court in a UNC uniform.

Losing two of the program’s most decorated players over the past four years will be a tough pill to swallow for Roy Williams and company. However, the Tar Heels are bringing in a top-10 recruiting class to ease the transition.

When looking at the roster, the main question is whether Coach Williams will choose to play small or go with a more traditional lineup.

What made the Tar Heels switch from their traditional two big man system was general inexperience from post players not named Luke Maye. A big step forward from Garrison Brooks or  Sterling Manley would ensure that they go back to playing inside-out.

Whether or not the freshman bigs from last season can step up their game is yet to be seen. That is why I believe the Tar Heels will start the season playing small ball once again.

Though they may not be starters by title, Manley and Brooks will still see a lot of minutes. The duo may be inserted into the starting lineup if the Tar Heels’ defensive woes from last season continue.

Another huge question mark for the North Carolina will be at the point guard position. Jalek Felton was the heir apparent to Joel Berry’s throne before being dismissed from the team. That leaves Seventh Woods as the only scholarship point guard with legitmate college experience.

Roy Williams will start the group of players who give UNC the best chance to win day one, and here is who they may be:
