UNC recruits Coby White and Nassir Little are among the players standing out at McDonald’s All-American Game practices

With the High School basketball season over, the focus now shifts on the showcase games remaining this season before they head to campus. The first of those games is the McDonald’s All-American Games hosted in Atlanta, Georgia this week.

On Saturday, the top players in the country arrived in Atlanta for a few days of practice, a day at the Ronald McDonald House, a scrimmage and then the actual game.

The first practice took place Sunday morning, with Monday’s session following before the scrimmage on Tuesday. The actual game takes place on Wednesday night.

At Monday’s practice there were dozens of NBA scouts and media members to take in the action.

One common theme was the praise of both Nassir Little and Coby White. The duo are the two players representing the University of North Carolina. Many media members praised both of the recruits for their excellent practice on Monday.

For White, he enters with his stock on the rise. The former four-star recruit earned his fifth star a few months back and became the all-time leading scorer in North Carolina High School basketball history.

On Monday, White put on an impressive shooting performance. Scout’s Evan Daniels and National Prep Hoops Review both raved about White’s game the past two days. Here’s a video from Jason Jordan of the USA Today:

But White wasn’t the only one making headlines. As previously mentioned, Little had another big day of practice.

Rival’s Eric Bossi tweeted this out about Little’s game:

He later went on to say that Little was the most impressive of the recruits in the two practices so far.

The word is that Little was all over the court on both the offensive and defensive ends, showing his ability to score from anywhere on the floor. The versatile five-star recruit is the highlight of UNC’s important 2018 class, so this is very good news.

Little can finish at the rim too and showed that at practice:

As for the nightcap, Little participated in the Powerade Jam Fest scoring a 90 on his first dunk, but missed his second attempt and scored a 70. He did not advance to the next round.

For Tuesday’s session, the practices will include a scrimmage for both sides. It will be the final practice before Wednesday’s game.
