The loss to Texas A&M in the NCAA Tournament taught us some things about the future of this program

It’s been over 24 hours since the North Carolina Tar Heels were bounced out of the NCAA Tournament by Texas A&M in blowout fashion.

The loss was disappointing, to say the least and stung a little bit.

Texas A&M was a bad matchup for UNC from the start and they exploited it as they dominated the paint and hit open shots. UNC couldn’t hit open shots and could barely penetrate the Aggies defense.

After UNC opened the game getting out to a 20-13 lead, the Aggies went on a big run and grabbed control and never looked back. The Tar Heels just couldn’t muster any offense even with getting some stops on defense.

UNC struggled to shoot the ball from the three-point line, shooting just 6-of-31 on the game from beyond the arc.

But with the loss, it also means a new era has arrived for North Carolina basketball.

Seniors Theo Pinson and Joel Berry II played in their final games as Tar Heels, ushering in a new era for the program.

With the loss, it also taught us a few things and showed us maybe what we could expect moving forward.
