Tar Heels come close to getting upset in first round

If you are assuming that everything I have predicted so far is right (I’m sure it will), then that would mean the Tar Heels will probably get a two seed.

In recent years we have had tons of upsets in the first round and luckily, so far, the Tar Heels haven’t fallen victim to one of those.

As a matter of fact, Roy Williams is one of the best coaches in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

But this year, the Tar Heels will find themselves in a close game down the stretch in the first round. There have been plenty of fifteen seeds that have beaten two seeds.

At the end of the day, the experience of the North Carolina Tar Heels will prevail. Guys like Joel Berry and Theo Pinson are too much for teams to get the better of the Tar Heels.

Sure, there is precedent for the Tar Heels losing ugly this year.  They lost to Wofford earlier, at home, with everybody healthy. It was Cameron Johnson’s first game, but he still played well.

To think that something like that could not happen to North Carolina again is naive. They are very susceptible to losing to a lesser talented team.

And in the first round their backs will be against the wall late in the game, but Berry will carry the Tar Heels back.
