Class of 2018 football recruit Jordyn Adams has been rewarded for his excellent play

The 2018 National Signing Day is quickly approaching as programs are making their final pitches to recruits all over the country.

For the North Carolina Tar Heels, they will enter that February day with a top 40 class and the chance for that to rise when the day is over.

UNC is in the running for a few important recruits including offensive tackle William Barnes who just took an official visit to Chapel Hill.

While the focus is on adding other big recruits, the Tar Heels 2018 class is already an impressive one and it’s highlighted by wide receiver Jordyn Adams.

The four-star wide receiver is the top prize in UNC’s class as he signed during the Early Signing Period back in December.

Adams has quickly become one of the best players at his position due to an impressive senior season. He will play both football and baseball at UNC, having the chance to be a standout in Chapel Hill.

For his play in his senior season and the US Army All American Bowl, Adams has been rewarded by moving up in the player rankings.

The site 247 Sports recently put out their final rankings of the 2018 class with Adams coming in at No. 14.

Adams was initially ranked at No. 77 but has climbed all the way into the top 15 and even earned a fifth star. He’s the highest-ranked UNC player this year and the third-best wide receiver in this class.

Recruiting site Rivals.com also put out their final 2018 rankings.

Adams is graded as a four-star recruit and finishes as the 72-best recruit in the Rivals’ Top 250, climbing up 18 spots.

The Cary, North Carolina product was recently on a visit to Chapel Hill during a big recruiting weekend with other 2018 targets. That weekend ended up leading to the commitments of a linebacker and an offensive lineman to UNC.

UNC targets Dax Hollifield, William Barnes, and Rick Sandidge were also ranked in the Rivals Top 25.

Sandidge is ranked No. 45, Barnes No. 91 and Hollifield No. 180.
