This weekend is a big one for North Carolina Football recruiting as the Tar Heels will host several recruits

With National Signing Day approaching in February, the North Carolina Tar Heels are looking to add to their 2018 recruiting class.

Head coach Larry Fedora and his staff have already put together an impressive class but they have the chance to add to it.

This upcoming weekend will give Fedora and his staff the opportunity to leave a lasting impression on some big recruits in the 2018 class and beyond.

UNC is set to host several big recruits and commits this weekend, which could be a turning point in their class.

Here’s who will be on campus beginning Friday:

Commits

The Tar Heels were able to sign the majority of their 2018 recruiting class in the Early Signing Period back in December.

UNC’s class is currently ranked No. 37 in the 247 Sports Team rankings and No. 7 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. It’s headlined by composite four-star WR Jordyn Adams who will also play baseball at UNC.

The only player on a visit this weekend that’s not officially signed is defensive back DeAndre Hollins.

He chose not to sign during the Early Signing Period and instead wants to do it on National Signing Day with fellow teammates. It’s nothing for UNC to worry about as Hollins is a hard commit.

Targets

Not only will UNC commits be on campus, but some big targets will be as well.

This list is headlined by four-star offensive tackle William Barnes who has UNC on his list of final three schools. Barnes is a top 50 player ranked No. 46 overall in the class and would fill a big need on UNC’s offensive line.

With four players graduating and Tommy Hatton retiring, there is a spot for Barnes to play right away at UNC and make an impact.

He isn’t the only offensive lineman on a visit. Joining Barnes are Joshua Ezeudu and Ed Montilus, both three-star lineman.

UNC is also hosting running backs Anthony Grant and Kavosiey Smoke as well as wide receiver Antoine Green.

Don’t expect a decision from Barnes this weekend but a few other recruits could give their verbal to UNC if all goes well.

This is a big weekend and hopefully it goes well for the recruits and the program.

A good weekend could be big for UNC’s chances as we approach National Signing Day in February and classes are finalized.
