Fedora talks early signing period

The North Carolina Tar Heels football program currently has a top 40 recruiting class for 2018 and are feeling good after the Early Signing Period.

Fedora has put together a nice class despite losing quarterback Tyler Shough to Oregon and linebacker Payton Wilson to NC State. Those decommitments hurt but Fedora was still able to build a solid class.

Following the Early Signing Period, Fedora spoke to the media about the new rule and how it impacted the Tar Heels.

“It just sped everything up,” UNC head coach Larry Fedora said via Inside Carolina. “There were a lot of kids out there that wanted to make decisions and wanted to do things quicker. We were fortunate enough with these kids to be on top of them early. I think our plan and the way we went about things worked out well for us.”

The signing period also gave UNC a chance to look ahead at February’s signing period and gives them a better feel of their needs in the class.

It also helps out with 2019’s class.

Fedora and the Tar Heels still have some top targets left on their recruiting board including linebacker Dax Hollifield and defensive tackle Rick Sandidge. The Tar Heels landed in both of the recruit’s top 3 and have either taken or have official visits scheduled to Chapel Hill.
