UNC Basketball: Five Questions Surrounding Tar Heels Going into ACC Play
By Alec Lasley
5. Can Luke Maye Continue His First-Team All-ACC Type Year?
Nobody expected Luke Maye to have the hot start that he has had – 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds a game – but now that he has, will he be able to keep up that pace?
Coming into the year, Maye had only one double-double in his previous two seasons; this year he already has seven.
Leading the Tar Heels in scoring, rebounds, and blocks, he has become a household name around the college basketball world.
With so much inexperience in the frontcourt coming into the season, his jump in production is the reason why the Tar Heels are sitting at 11-2 right now entering ACC play.
Obviously, he has played more games against ACC opponents in his time at Carolina than non-conference foes, so with teams already having seen him twice a year for two years, they already have a step up on the non-conference teams he has faced this year.

It will be interesting to see how Maye fares in conference play and how he will adjust his game as the season gets deeper and as more teams get more scouting out on his game.
