The Joker

I won’t spend too much time on who the Joker is, but suffice it to say, he is considered the top baddie for the Batman. No one is more psychotic and more obsessed with the Dark Knight and no one gets the Caped Crusaders attention quicker than the Joker.

So who is Batman for the Duke Blue Devils? David Cutcliffe of course. I know Cutcliffe would have an easier time getting a job playing Alfred than Bruce Wayne (unless this is Batman Beyond), but here me out.

Like Batman, Cutcliffe has done more with less. Batman has always stood out as a superhero because unlike every other superhero, he doesn’t have a superpower. Yet despite this, he is extremely popular and remains a member of the Justice League.

Why? Because he stays dangerous and successful despite being a mere mortal. Enter Duke. The Blue Devils are usually playing with one hand tied behind their back in football due to academic restrictions. They are a smaller school that has struggled with bowl eligibility.

However, under Cutcliffe, despite their limitations, they stay competitive and are on the verge of a fifth bowl season in six seasons. They don’t get all the big names the other ACC schools do, and even lost six in a row before their big win over Georgia Tech.

However, they are a victory shy of six wins, something a third of the ACC probably won’t do.

If the ACC is the Justice League, Duke is its Batman, no matter how much Carolina fans don’t want to hear that. The Blue Devils will try to get that sixth win this weekend when they take on Wake Forest.
