Red Skull

Red Skull is considered by most to be the arch nemesis of Captain America. Like Cap, Red Skull was also infused with the super soldier formula, though he did have an adverse effect which melted his face, hence the name.

In fact, the two were so equally matched that the only way Captain America found to defeat him was to sacrifice himself, ala Sherlock Holmes.

So, who is Captain America for the Panthers? I went with Darren Hall. Hall went from a nobody to a superhero for Pittsburgh. In Pitt’s first seven games Hall rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries. The Panthers went 2-5 in those games.

Then he got infused with the super soldier formula and went off. In the next three games, Hall rushed the ball 72 times for 486 yards and eight touchdowns. Hall averaged 6.7 yards per carry during that stretch as Pitt went 2-1 in those games.

Pitt also outscored teams 86-65 and averaged nearly a touchdown more a game during that three-game span that helped bring Pitt into bowl possibilities.

Of course, he followed that up with a stinker against Virginia Tech, but even the best superheroes have an off day every now and then, just ask Batman.

Regardless, the Panthers will need their superhero if they want to win their next game and have a chance at a bowl invitation as they take on the undefeated Miami Hurricanes to end the season.
