The Tar Heels win their third straight ACC regular season title

Believe it or not, this may be the boldest of all predictions.

The Heels were projected to finish a distant second to Duke again this season, but those do not matter. Many believe this team just simply does not match up with Duke, but we have heard that fake news before.

This North Carolina team is deep. Maybe not as deep as last years title team, but still pretty deep.

Nobody predicted Duke to unravel last year, yet they still did. This UNC team has all the tools to win a third straight ACC title, and I believe they will.

The last team to win three straight outright ACC titles was Duke in the late 1990’s. This three-year stretch for the Heels could be the most dominant stretch of hoops since then.

But if North Carolina want to win a third straight, they need to beat Duke twice this season. In the past, that has been the monkey they cannot get off their back, and this year can be the year.

They have dominated everybody else in the ACC over the last few years, but have come up short against Duke. That is okay though, the Heels do have a national title to show for it.

But the tide will swing this year, and the Heels will beat Duke both times en route to their third straight ACC championship.

Winning that has been a good sign of things to come for March Madness, and maybe it can be again this year.
