Class of 2019 prospect visits pair of ACC schools

Class of 2019 five-star prospect Wendell Moore was long considered a strong North Carolina lean, but recently announced that he was expanding his recruitment.

The announcement came on the heels of a scholarship offer from Duke in mid-October. Moore’s father stated, though, that it wasn’t just because of the Duke offer, but about his son being able to “go through the process and see some options”.

Moore subsequently released a top-10 list that includes Duke, Florida State, Kansas, Maryland, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Wake Forest and Washington.

Last weekend, Moore made unofficial visits to both North Carolina State and Wake Forest, two of the in-state schools who have been recruiting him the hardest.

And although North Carolina is still considered the favorite to land Moore, it’s safe to say that his recruitment is pretty wide open at the moment.

Moore is a 6-foot-5, 210-pound small forward out of Cox Mill High School. He’s the No. 22 prospect in the class of 2019 according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s a top-10 player at his position and the No. 2 prospect in the state of North Carolina.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball still projects North Carolina as an 88 percent favorite to land Moore, but look for some other teams to enter the mix as he continues to make visits and spend time with the various programs within his top-10.
