Recent UNC signee Nassir Little in talks with Zion Williamson

Zion Williamson is the most sought after high school basketball player in the nation.

Duke, Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina, arguably the top four programs in the nation, are all tirelessly recruiting him. With schools like that, along with up-and-coming programs such as Clemson and South Carolina, going after Williamson, it can’t hurt to have a little extra help in reeling in the five-star prospect.

For North Carolina, that help comes in the form of newly signed top-10 prospect Nassir Little.

"“I’m going hard after Zion; that’s my guy,” Little said on the Inside Carolina Podcast. “Me and him are pretty close,” Little said. “I’ve been texting him every day to see how he’s feeling. That’s the guy I’ve been after.”"

Little, a 6-foot-7, 205-pound small forward out of Orlando, Florida, says he is doing everything he can to get Williamson to join him in Chapel Hill next season. Little is North Carolina’s top recruit since Justin Jackson committed in 2014, but the Tar Heels are hoping to bring in one more player from the class of 2018.

Williamson, the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2018 class, would certainly fit the bill. His talent is tremendous and his athleticism is unmatched. And maybe with all of the work that North Carolina head coach Roy Williams has put in, as well as Williamson’s relationship with Little, there’s a chance for that to happen.

Throw in the fact that Williamson would have a chance to play alongside five-star point guard Coby White next season, and it could be a particularly nice fit for his lone year in the college ranks.
