Home of the Blues

Normally the term blues in music refers to a downtime for most teams. I referenced said blues on these very Panthers earlier this season.

However, in this case, the only teams that are blue lately are Pitt’s opponents.

The Panthers are on a two-game winning streak and have left two teams that wear blue, feeling blue. Both Duke and Virginia probably saw Pitt as a win to count toward their bowl eligibility.

The Blue Devils and Cavaliers are two victories that could make the Panthers bowl eligible.

Pittsburgh has now improved to 4-5 on the season and needs just two wins in their last three to become bowl eligible for the 10th straight season and the Panthers still get to play the one-win Tar Heels.

The Panthers season actually made a turn when Pat Narduzzi stopped playing musical quarterbacks. The past two games are the only two of the season that Pitt only played one quarterback the entire game. It is unsurprising that those games both resulted in Panther wins.

This two-game win streak has seen the emergence of running back Darrin Hall. Hall has rushed for 365 yards and four touchdowns the past two weeks. During that span, he is also rushing for 7.5 yards per carry.

Pittsburgh is on bye this week but will look to put the blues in another team that wears blue in North Carolina.

dIt will be Pitt’s second straight home game, and since they too wear blue, truly makes them home of the blues.
