Defensive players starting to play big

Julius Peppers:

The 15-year veteran continues to produce in his second stint with the Carolina Panthers. Just a week after he was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week, Peppers had another nice game for the Panthers.

Peppers recorded 2 tackles and a sack on the day, including knifing into the backfield for a huge stop on 4th and 1.

He is now 1.5 sacks away from tying Chris Doleman for fourth all-time in sacks, a number he should reach this season.

The team will now take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football as they look to keep their win streak alive.

Robert Quinn:

Quinn collected a sack on Russell Wilson and two tackles in a loss to the Seahawks. The gifted pass rusher now has 2.5 sacks on the season.

His lone sack versus the Seahawks was so crushing it led to an interesting reaction by one of the announcers:

Tre Boston:

Tre Boston finally made the big play he was looking for by picking off Eli Manning and sealing his team’s first win of the season.

Down by five with under a minute to play, the winless Giants found themselves facing a 4th and 10 around the 50-yard line. Under pressure, Eli Manning threw up a prayer that Tre Boston cruelly rejected.

Boston continues to produce at safety and collected 4 tackles on the day. He’s been a bright spot for a Chargers team that got their first win of the year on Sunday. Now can they build up a win streak?
